Replacing hardware for a team of 350 people is a big task, so when Hastings District Council needed to upgrade their PC as well as Server and Storage Infrastructure, they called in the experts. As the largest New Zealand-owned IT services provider, Datacom delivered the cost effective and effi cient results the Council required.
Datacom, who won a very competitive bid, partnered with HP to provide 200 new desktop computers along with Server and Storage Infrastucture that would meet the Council’s needs both now and into the future.
Hastings District Council Information Services Manager, Ian Wright, says for them, having reliable IT equipment is key. “It makes our jobs that much easier and means the team can focus on doing their jobs.”
Datacom Account Manager, Alan Greatbatch, has developed a strong working relationship with Ian and his team and says “For a mission critical environment like the Council they need solid IT systems, especially in Civil Defence situations.” Of Datacom’s collaboration with HP, Alan says “We endeavoured to give them the best possible solutions and HP met the brief perfectly. It’s about working together to achieve the objectives of our clients.”
In addition to providing infrastructure for the Hastings District Council, Datacom also works day-to-day alongside council staff providing expert advice and service to ensure the smooth running of their IT systems. Ian appreciates their proactive and solution-focused service saying “Alan is in regular contact talking to us about our needs and planning ahead. We find that Datacom really adds value to our organisation.”
The Hastings District Council is just one of many New Zealand organisations to benefit from Datacom’s honest, pragmatic approach and can-do attitude. Datacom is HP’s longest serving, and largest, premier business and support partner in New Zealand, and has an extensive history of providing creative, innovative and industry leading IT solutions to clients in both the corporate and private sectors.
